DENİZ (DEAD SEA)
Overlooking
a beatiful bay strewn with island, the houses look down
on the little port from a hill crawned by the ruins
of the fortress built by the Knights of Rhodes. There
are some Lycian rock tombs on the cliff face with regal,
carved facades.
By
looking at the Lycian inscriptions and various coins,
it can be said that Fethiye, previously known as Telmessos,
was founded in the 5th century BC.

is in the sense of calm. It is a sheltered lagoon of
great beauty, almost totaly cut off from the sea, at
